Malawi’s Agriculture Ministry plans to award Renaissance Agriculture and Food Systems a 4.59 billion kwacha contract to supply 765 tonnes of maize seed. Excluded companies can challenge the award until 31 October, according to a ministry notice cited by Nyasa Times.

Malawi’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development plans to award a 4.59 billion kwacha contract to Renaissance Agriculture and Food Systems to supply and deliver 765 tonnes of maize seed under the 2026-2027 Farm Inputs Programme, according to a notice published on 17 October 2026.

The company was selected for lot 2 of tender number 019/NCB/FISP/G/2026-2027/02. Unsuccessful bidders can file a formal objection with the Solicitor General and the Secretary for Justice until 31 October, according to the ministry’s notice.

The FISP Farm Inputs Programme, a public subsidy scheme for smallholder farmers, provides seeds and fertiliser at reduced prices to support maize production and household food security. The award comes after the launch on 25 September of Malawi’s 2026-2027 agricultural programme.
