Sierra Leonean rapper King Boss LAJ will not perform at the PANAF festival, held on 30 October in Brussels, following a reported dispute over travel arrangements. Organisers DJ PROD confirmed his absence in a statement and said Sierra Leone would remain the guest of honour for the ninth edition.

Sierra Leonean rapper King Boss LAJ will not take part in the ninth edition of the PANAF festival, being held in Belgium, the event’s organiser, DJ PROD, announced on Friday. It cited circumstances beyond its control and apologised to fans and the Sierra Leonean community.

According to a source close to the matter cited by Sierra Loaded, the disagreement concerned the rapper’s travel arrangements, as he wanted to travel with three members of his team. The same source said the organisers had announced his appearance in their promotional material before reaching a final agreement with his team.

The festival will go ahead despite his absence on 30 October at Blu Brussels, followed by 31 October at the Dôme de Charleroi. Sierra Leone will remain the guest of honour for this ninth edition, according to DJ PROD’s statement.
