The Russian version of Medemer, a book by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, was launched in Moscow on 28 October. The book, already translated into English, Chinese and Arabic, is intended to make Ethiopian philosophy better known among Russian-speaking audiences, according to Abiy Ahmed.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed took part in the launch of the Russian edition of his book Medemer in Moscow on Wednesday, dedicated to a political philosophy presented as stemming from indigenous Ethiopian knowledge, Fanamc reported. The book had already been translated into English, Chinese and Arabic.
Abiy Ahmed said the publication was intended to broaden access to his ideas among Russian-speaking readers and strengthen intellectual and cultural exchanges between Ethiopia and Russia. He thanked the leaders and professionals at the Russia Today network for their contribution to the project.
The launch took place during the Ethiopian prime minister’s visit to Moscow for the third Russia-Africa summit. The visit was also marked by the handover to Ethiopia of 12 Russian Su-35 fighter jets, overseen by Abiy Ahmed on the same day, according to Fanamc.
The Russian publication comes after Ethiopia’s receipt of 12 Russian Su-35 fighter jets on 28 October, under the defence agreement between the two countries.
