Ethiopian soldiers helped vulnerable farmers harvest their teff in Adet Woreda, in the central zone of the Tigray Region, to prevent crop losses. The operation was carried out by members of the Abdisa Aga Battalion, under Western Command, reports Fanamc.

The battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel Gezahagn Bekele, said the soldiers were working to support local communities in areas where they are deployed. Captain Amare Muluneh, commander of the Abay Regiment, explained that some farmers were struggling to harvest in time.

Two beneficiaries, Mamo Gebreyessus and Desalegn Gerenchel, thanked the soldiers and said their help had enabled them to bring in their mature crop. They also spoke of the relative calm in their area, according to Fanamc.
