The Cape Verde Electricity Distribution Company restored power across Santiago at 12:44 after a fault at Palmarejo power station was repaired. Occasional disruptions may continue as the network stabilises, following three days of rotating cuts, the Cape Verdean company said.

Electricity was restored across the island of Santiago on 3 November at 12:44, after a fault in the power generation system at Palmarejo power station was repaired, the Cape Verde Electricity Distribution Company (EDEC) announced. Rotating power cuts had been imposed on 1, 2 and 3 November.

EDEC warned that occasional disruptions could still affect the service until the system was fully stabilised. Its teams are continuing to monitor the situation.
