Nigerian political economist Pat Utomi says young people supporting Peter Obi are more politically aware and refuse to be won over with food handouts. He was reacting to a heated debate between supporters of Peter Obi and President Bola Tinubu, reports Daily Post Nigeria.

Nigerian economist Pat Utomi believes that young people supporting Peter Obi are particularly aware of political issues and that their support cannot be bought with food handouts. He posted the comment on X on Sunday evening, after a debate between Peter Obi supporters and supporters of President Bola Tinubu, reports Daily Post.

A video of the debate shows Tinubu supporters defending his record during three years in power, while Obi’s supporters dispute their assessment and invite them to test their arguments against the situation in the markets. Utomi also wrote that voters should be able to tell an elected official directly that they are failing in their job.
