Osimhen to undergo knee surgery, ruled out against Tanzania

Victor Osimhen, Nigerian striker for Galatasaray, is to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery after an MRI found a loose body. The procedure comes after his injury against Stuttgart and confirms his absence from Nigeria's match against Tanzania, according to Galatasaray and Daily Trust.

Victor Osimhen, Nigerian striker for Galatasaray, is to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery after an MRI found a loose body. The Turkish club announced that the procedure was scheduled for Saturday at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital in Istanbul, by its doctor Yener İnce.

Osimhen injured his left knee during Galatasaray's 2-0 victory over Stuttgart in the Champions League. He played the entire match despite the injury before being sent to hospital for further examinations, according to Galatasaray. The club also announced that he would miss the league match against Amedspor.

The procedure rules Osimhen out of Nigeria's two matches against Tanzania in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The striker had already missed the previous international window, according to Daily Trust.
