Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema has handed over 70 vehicles and six buses to the Defence and Security Forces, training schools, Customs, and Water and Forestry officials. The allocation is intended to improve agents’ mobility and operational capabilities, according to a statement from the Gabonese presidency.

Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema handed over 70 vehicles and six buses to the Defence and Security Forces, training schools, Customs, and Water and Forestry officials on Monday in Libreville. The allocation is intended to improve staff mobility and the intervention capabilities of units deployed inside the country, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic reported by AGP Gabon.

The measure responds in particular to travel difficulties observed by the head of state during his stay in Port-Gentil, where some officials were travelling to their workplaces on foot. The Presidency said allocations of vehicles would gradually be extended to other public administrations.
