Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema has set 2030 as the deadline for completing all ongoing road projects. He gave the deadline to companies in the sector at a meeting with business operators, according to Gabonews.

The head of state criticised the delays and called for work to be accelerated while meeting quality standards. He called for roads to cover all provinces, from Estuaire to Ogooué-Lolo, including Nyanga and Haut-Ogooué, to open up the country and facilitate the movement of people and goods, Gabonews reports.

The demand is part of a series of presidential instructions on economic projects. On 29 September, Oligui Nguema had called for the Belinga mining project to be accelerated.
