Gabon’s Ministry of Communication is relaunching the press card and opening consultations on how public aid to the media is allocated. The decision was taken at a meeting at Maison Georges Rawiri between the ministry’s secretary-general, Hass Nziengui, and press representatives, Gabonclic reports.

The consultations are to focus on a more transparent allocation of the public subsidy for the media. The relaunch of the professional press card accompanies this overhaul of the sector, although Gabonclic’s announcement did not detail how the cards would be issued.
