The Nigerian army arrested Auta Maikyala, a suspected terrorist, on 5 November at a hospital in Kagarko, Kaduna State. The suspect, wounded by gunfire during a clash with a rival faction, is suspected of involvement in attacks on communities, kidnappings and cattle theft, according to Vanguard. Military operations also targeted armed-group hideouts in Zamfara State.

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, as part of Operation Fansan Yamma, arrested Auta Maikyala on 5 November at a hospital in Kagarko, Kaduna State, according to Captain Tamuno Sinivie, acting spokesperson for the joint force, quoted by Vanguard. The intelligence-led operation was carried out by soldiers from Sector 1 with Department of State Services (DSS) personnel. The suspect had gone to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound sustained during a clash with a rival faction.

Initial investigations attribute several attacks on communities, kidnappings and cattle thefts to him. He remains in custody for the purposes of the investigation and possible legal proceedings.

That same day, troops conducted clearance operations in the villages of Aljummu Hausa, Aljummu Fulani and Tunga Magaji, in the Maradun area of Zamfara. Several hideouts belonging to armed groups were dismantled there.

The Nigerian Air Force also carried out strikes against suspected fighters' positions in the Babban Doka and Kuyumbana forests, in the Maru area. These locations are believed to be linked to wanted armed-group leader Dogo Gide. According to Sinivie, intelligence indicated that fighters were gathering in the area to prepare and coordinate criminal activities. Troops are continuing their operations in the area. The military official urged residents to pass any credible information about suspicious activities to the security forces.
