Nigeria are set to play Japan in the U17 Women's World Cup final after scoring 13 goals and conceding four in the tournament. The match is scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco, according to Tribune Online.

Nigeria will face Japan in the final of the 2026 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup on Saturday 7 November at 7pm at the Mohammed VI complex in Rabat. The Flamingos are seeking to become the first African national team to win the competition, according to Tribune Online.

Nigeria have scored 13 goals and conceded four since the start of the tournament. After losing 2-1 to Poland in their opening match, the Nigerian team beat Puerto Rico 2-0, then North Korea 3-1, before defeating Mexico 2-1 in the round of 16, Venezuela 1-0 in the quarter-finals and Brazil 3-1 in the semi-finals.

Coach Akeem Busari has asked his players to maintain their focus against Japan, former U17 world champions. He believes the Japanese favour building play and involving their full-backs, characteristics he says he wants to take into account for the final.

The final comes three days after Nigeria's qualification for the decisive match, announced on 4 November 2026. It also follows the team's preparation by Akeem Busari and the announcement on 6 November of the clash with Japan.
