Algeria coach Amine Ghimouz has unveiled a squad for the U17 World Cup in Qatar (19 November-13 December) without Mouhammed Valmy, Yanis Messaoudi, Bilal Daaou or Zinedine Zouai. Algeria are returning to the U17 World Cup for the first time since 2009, according to Afrik-Foot.

The coach of Algeria's under-17 team, Amine Ghimouz, has unveiled a squad for the U17 World Cup in Qatar (19 November-13 December) that omits Mouhammed Valmy, Yanis Messaoudi, Bilal Daaou and Zinedine Zouai, reports Afrik-Foot. Algeria are returning to the world competition for the first time since the 2009 edition in Nigeria.

Mouhammed Valmy had stood out at the last U17 AFCON, notably with a brace against Tanzania and the man-of-the-match award, and Amine Ghimouz had himself praised his performances. Yanis Messaoudi plays for AC Milan, Bilal Daaou for Frankfurt U19 and Zinedine Zouai for Sochaux U19; the reasons for their absences have not been specified.

Ghimouz will nevertheless be able to count on Yacine Abed, singled out at the U17 AFCON, Rayan Zidane, a Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Walid Nechab, of Olympique Lyonnais, or Ramy Benkhiat, of Nice, who opted for Algeria last month. Ilyes Grini (Lens), Nazim Benghezel (Amiens), Mahdi Maghlout (Inter Milan) and Khalil Touali are also in the squad.

Drawn in Group J with the United States, Chile and Montenegro, Algeria are aiming for the knockout stage. "Our ambition is to go far in the competition and, of course, to honour our country," said Amine Ghimouz. Morocco, another African representative, have for their part named 21 players for Qatar.
