Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi wants to win the next two matches against Niger in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The next camp will also be used to test tactics and bring in young players, he told reporters in Salé.

Morocco are aiming for two victories against Niger in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying matches, national coach Mohamed Ouahbi said in Salé on Wednesday. The Moroccan coach said the next squad gathering would also be used to test new tactics and give young players more playing time, according to comments he made at a press conference at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.

Ouahbi said the March international window would be a decisive stage in identifying the core of the Atlas Lions squad due to play in the final tournament of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. He also confirmed the return of striker Youssef En-Nesyri, who is regularly monitored by the coaching staff, and explained that playing time at club level would not be the only selection criterion: technical and tactical qualities, as well as the ability to fit into the style of play, would also be taken into account.

The coach reaffirmed this approach after Oufkir was called up by Morocco, announced on 4 November. Morocco is thus preparing for its next 2027 Africa Cup of Nations fixtures while gradually widening its squad.
