Moroccan Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Ismaïl Saïbari could be out for at least three months after rupturing the syndesmosis ligament in his right ankle, according to German newspaper BILD, cited by Mountakhab.net. He has undergone successful surgery and is not expected to return to competition before February 2027.

Saïbari was injured on Saturday during the 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund. He left the pitch before the half-hour mark after a challenge with goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, then left the stadium on crutches. Bayern have not yet confirmed how long he will be out.

Kobel apologised to the Moroccan player on Instagram and wished him a speedy recovery. Saïbari thanked him for his message. The injury could also rule him out of Morocco’s match against Niger in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which Mountakhab.net reported he would miss.
