Algerian investigators seized more than 96 kilograms of cocaine and arrested 12 suspects in two operations in the west of the country. The value of the recovered assets exceeds 200 billion centimes, while investigations attribute control of the networks to leaders based in Morocco and Europe, reports Algérie360.
Two criminal organisations suspected of trafficking cocaine have been dismantled in western Algeria, with more than 96 kilograms of the drug seized and 12 suspects arrested. The operations were carried out over one week by Oran’s regional organised crime unit, in coordination with specialised National Security units, reports Algérie 360.
Investigators say the two networks received their instructions from leaders based in Morocco and Europe. The operations also led to the seizure of three heavy goods vehicles, 11 cars and three motorbikes used to transport the drugs, as well as more than 215 million centimes said to be proceeds from sales.
The investigations identified the networks’ active members, their local contacts and the vehicles used. The competent judicial authorities supervised the seizures and arrests, according to Algérie 360.
