Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka rejected calls to join Kenyan President William Ruto’s government, which he called a “government of predators”. He expressed his refusal at a religious gathering in Kyemutheke, Machakos County, on 1 November, Tuko reports.
Kalonzo Musyoka, leader of Kenya’s Wiper party, rejected calls from UDA and ODM officials to join President William Ruto’s government on Sunday 1 November. He said at a religious gathering in Kyemutheke, Machakos County, that he could not join the administration, Tuko reports.
Kalonzo explained that Ruto had presented him as his main political opponent for the next electoral cycle, and called for the two of them to be separated at the ballot box. In another intervention, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua also said that the Wiper leader was not available to join the government.
Kalonzo’s position came in response to an initiative by UDA, the president’s party, which invited him to join William Ruto’s administration. On 25 October, Kalonzo called on Kenya’s opposition to unite ahead of the 2027 election.
