The country hosts the secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area, which covers 54 countries and about 1.4 billion people, according to MyJoyOnline.
Ghana called on Polish and European companies to invest in the country, highlighting its democratic stability, the rule of law and improving economic conditions, Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Sampson Ahi said during a round table in Accra reported by MyJoyOnline.
Sampson Ahi also presented the presence in Accra of the secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which covers trade between 54 African countries and represents a potential market of about 1.4 billion people, as an advantage for investors targeting the continental market. He particularly cited the strengthening of Ghana’s industrial base, job creation and the deepening of international trade relations.
The call came after the African Business Forum in Accra, held on 22 October, and as Ghana continues its efforts to attract more foreign capital. Sampson Ahi said these investments could also promote closer trade partnerships between Ghanaian and European companies.
