FIFA is providing $10 million to finance the construction of a national football technical centre in Guinea-Bissau, with $4 million already released. Work is due to start between January and February 2027 in Nhacra, Oio, according to Nataniel Nascimento Brito, a FIFA regional official.

FIFA will provide $10 million to finance the construction of a national football technical centre in Guinea-Bissau, in the Nhacra sector, Oio region. A first tranche of $4 million has already been released and work is due to start between January and February 2027, Nataniel Nascimento Brito, development coordinator at FIFA's regional office for West Africa, announced on 6 November 2026, according to O Democrata.

A second tranche of $4 million is due to be paid in January 2027, while the remainder of the funding will be mobilised during subsequent phases. The acquisition of the land for the centre has been completed and the FIFA mission in Guinea-Bissau helped speed up the technical procedures needed to launch the tender and recruit the company responsible for the first phase of the works, Nataniel Brito said.

FIFA also plans to renovate the headquarters of the Guinea-Bissau Football Federation (FFGB), in Alto de Bandim, Bissau, at a cost of about $260,000, including the installation of solar panels. It will also finance the installation of generators at the stadiums in Canchungo and Bafatá, as well as the construction of two pitches for seven-a-side football, according to O Democrata.
