An eight-year-old girl discovered that a pistol bullet was lodged in her foot after a hospital examination in Eswatini. She had been injured the previous month while playing with her siblings in Ekupheleni, reports the Times of Eswatini.

After the incident, her parents took her to hospital, where staff cleaned the wound and gave her antibiotics. As her condition did not improve and her foot had swollen, she returned several times. An X-ray during a consultation this month revealed the bullet.

The girl later told her parents that she remembered hearing a sound resembling a gunshot and seeing a resident shoot at cats. Police went to the resident’s home after these statements, according to the newspaper.
