Egypt condemns attack on UAE oil tanker in Hormuz

Egypt condemns the missile attack on an oil tanker operated by ADNOC, Abu Dhabi’s state-owned oil company, in the Strait of Hormuz. Cairo says the incident threatens maritime security, regional stability and global trade, according to Egyptian newspaper Daily News Egypt.

Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday condemned the missile attack on an oil tanker operated by ADNOC, the United Arab Emirates’ state-owned oil company, in the Strait of Hormuz. Cairo denounced it as a serious threat to maritime security, regional stability and global trade, according to a ministry statement.

Egypt expressed its solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and rejected attacks targeting civilian vessels and strategic infrastructure. It called for freedom of navigation to be preserved and regional disputes to be resolved through political means, as Iran and Oman continued negotiations on navigation arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz. The discussions are taking place amid Iranian threats to restrict access to the Strait of Hormuz.
