Congolese MP Patrick Matata has called for the National Assembly to examine the 2025 accounts alongside the Court of Accounts’ observations, whose report has been submitted to the plenary. He cites the Assembly’s rules of procedure and the organic law governing the institution, according to Kis24info.

Congolese national MP Patrick Matata has called for examination of the draft law on the 2025 accounts to be carried out alongside consideration of the Court of Accounts’ observations, before the budget vote. He submitted a procedural motion to the National Assembly on Tuesday, according to Kis24info.

Patrick Matata cited Article 87 of the 2011 law on public finances, which provides that Parliament examines the accounts of the last completed financial year before voting on the year’s budget. He proposed aligning consideration of the draft law with the technical observations already sent to the Economic, Financial and Budgetary Control Committee.

The Court of Accounts submitted its report to Parliament the day before the MP’s intervention. The move follows the submission of its report on the 2025 budget on 27 October, and the publication on 29 October of figures showing that the DR Congo collected 98% of its projected domestic revenue in 2025 (revenue figures).
