Dangote Cement’s market capitalisation passed 20 trillion naira, reaching 20.620 trillion on 26 October 2026 after its share rose 10% to 1,222.10 naira. The company thus became the second most valuable firm on the Nigerian stock exchange, a rise analysts linked to interest generated by the Dangote refinery’s share offering, reports ThisDay.
Dangote Cement’s market capitalisation, the Nigerian cement producer listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), exceeded 20 trillion naira to reach 20.620 trillion on 26 October. The share has gained 10% since the start of the week, rising from 1,111 to 1,222.10 naira, according to Nigerian daily ThisDay.
The share reached its highest level in 52 weeks. It has risen 100.67% since opening at 609 naira at the beginning of the year. Market analysts cited by ThisDay attributed the increase to renewed interest in Dangote Group securities, amid the public share offering for its oil refinery, which closes on 27 October.
In the first six months of 2026, Dangote Cement recorded revenue of 2.514 trillion naira, up 21.4%, and EBITDA of 1.188 trillion, an increase of 25.8%. Its earnings per share rose 24.3% to 38.22 naira, while sales volumes reached 14.9 million tonnes, up 11.8%. These half-year results were published as part of an article also discussing the Dangote refinery’s nine-month financial results.
The share’s rise comes as the Dangote refinery’s share offer, intended for investors in Nigeria, is due to close on 27 October. The group said the deadline was final and that no extension would be granted.
