Congolese Deputy Prime Minister Jean Jacques Bouya is defending investment opportunities in Congo-Brazzaville at the World Investment Forum, being held from 25 to 27 October 2026 in Doha. He is leading a delegation that includes Jacqueline Lydia Mikolo, minister of Trade, Supplies and Consumption in charge of the African Continental Free Trade Area, according to Congo B.

During a round table on investment in Africa, Jean Jacques Bouya called for more capital to be mobilised to support industrialisation and job creation. He advocated the local processing of mineral resources so that Africa retains the added value of its raw materials, Congo B reports.

The Congolese delegation also wants to promote the national economy, present projects to investors and strengthen economic partnerships. The deputy prime minister highlighted youth and women's entrepreneurship during the ministerial round table, according to Congo B.

The Congolese participation comes as the AfCFTA, the African free-trade area, prepares a road map for women's trade in Brazzaville. It extends regional discussions on women entrepreneurs' access to markets and financing, announced on 22 October.
