Nigerian cement maker BUA Cement posted net profit of 463.1 billion naira in the first nine months of 2026, up 60% from the same period in 2025. Revenue rose 26.5% to 1.1 trillion naira, according to unaudited financial results reported by This Day.

BUA Cement raised its net profit to 463.1 billion naira in the first nine months of 2026, up from 289.6 billion naira in the same period of 2025, a rise of about 60%, according to unaudited financial results published on Thursday and reported by ThisDay.

Pre-tax profit rose 64.4% to 556.7 billion naira, while revenue increased 26.5% to 1.1 trillion naira. The growth was driven by bulk cement sales, despite heavy rainfall and poor road conditions, according to the Nigerian manufacturer.

BUA Cement’s gross margin reached 57.1%, up seven percentage points, while its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation margin was 52.7%, up 6.3 points. Managing Director Yusuf Binji attributed the performance to a broader bulk customer base, the acquisition of trucks powered by liquefied natural gas and a reorganisation of logistics operations. The cost of sales nevertheless rose 8.8% to 466.4 billion naira, partly due to an unfavourable energy supply and higher prices for some inputs linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
