The Republican Bloc for the Defence of the Constitution (BRDC) has called for a demonstration in Bangui on 13 November 2026 against the rising cost of living and fuel prices. Announced on 30 October, the gathering will also demand the release of civil society leaders, according to Corbeau News Centrafrique.

The Republican Bloc for the Defence of the Constitution (BRDC), a Central African opposition movement, has called for a peaceful march against the high cost of living in Bangui on Friday 13 November 2026, starting at 6am. The announcement was made on Friday 30 October during a press conference focused on rising fuel prices and the arrests of civil society leaders, Corbeau News Centrafrique reports.

The procession is to start at the Peace roundabout and proceed to the Martyrs’ Monument along Martyrs Avenue. The BRDC has also invited residents of Bimbo and Bégoua to join the mobilisation. Its demands include a reduction in fuel prices and the release of civil society leaders.

The movement says it is responding to a proposal by Central African President Faustin-Archange Touadéra, who allegedly recommended that trade unions favour a march along Martyrs Avenue rather than a stay-at-home operation. The march has been announced after the 12 October stay-at-home operation organised against the third fuel price increase in three years.

The mobilisation is part of a series of protests against fuel costs. A stay-at-home day in Bangui had been announced on 8 October, before civil society called for another day of protest on 11 October. On 18 October, the Central African authorities increased fuel prices after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
