The Guinea-Bissau coalition API-Cabaz Garandi is calling for direct talks with the High Military Command to formalise a National Political Pact and set a transition timetable. It is also calling for the restoration of constitutional order and reconciliation, according to a statement cited by O Democrata.

The Aliança Patriótica Inclusiva–Cabaz Garandi (API-CG) coalition has called for direct talks with Guinea-Bissau’s High Military Command to formalise a National Political Pact and set a timetable for the transition period. The request was made in a statement signed by its president, Jorge F. Gomes, seen by O Democrata on 4 November 2026.

The coalition, which supported Fernando Dias da Costa in the presidential election interrupted by the November 2025 coup, welcomed the release of military and civilian detainees. It considers the measure a gesture towards respect for the law and national reconciliation, according to the statement reported by O Democrata.

The API-CG is calling on the High Military Command to continue the dialogue and strengthen trust among Guineans. It is also demanding the restoration of constitutional order and inviting political, military and social actors to contribute to peace, stability and national unity.

The coalition’s request follows initiatives in favour of an agreement between civilians and the military, after two coalitions called for a civilian-military pact on 3 October. It says lasting peace requires inclusive dialogue, reconciliation, justice and respect for fundamental rights.
