Aminu Attah, an APC chieftain in Kogi State, has called on Edward Onoja to support Joseph Ameh Erico, the party’s senatorial candidate for Kogi East. He believes that backing only Bola Tinubu could weaken the APC’s unity and electoral prospects, according to Tribune Online.

Aminu Attah, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, has called on Edward Onoja, the state’s former deputy governor, to support Joseph Ameh Erico, the party’s senatorial candidate for Kogi East. He made the appeal on Tuesday and accused Onoja of failing to mobilise his supporters for the senatorial candidate, Tribune Online reports.

Aminu Attah said APC members should support all the party’s candidates, not just President Bola Tinubu. He described this attitude as a breach of party discipline and said Joseph Erico’s election would not undermine Edward Onoja’s political ambitions, including access to a federal appointment.

The APC official also described Joseph Erico’s candidacy, as a native of the Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro federal constituency, as an opportunity for the area to secure a senator after several years of political efforts. He called on party officials to return to the field to mobilise voters in support of all APC candidates.
