Nigeria’s Vice-President Kashim Shettima urged Nasarawa voters to re-elect Bola Tinubu in 2027 and support Ahmed Wadada, the APC’s governorship candidate. He promised more development projects, including improvements to transport and the movement of agricultural produce, according to Business Day Nigeria.

Nigeria’s Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Wednesday urged voters in Nasarawa State to re-elect Bola Tinubu as president in 2027 and elect Ahmed Wadada, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor. He was speaking at an APC campaign rally in Lafia, Business Day Nigeria reports.

Kashim Shettima acknowledged difficulties including transport and the movement of agricultural produce, before presenting the construction of a bypass linking Nasarawa to Makurdi and Shendam as a response by the federal government and the state administration. He also urged voters to support APC candidates at every level of the election. House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas also called for support for Bola Tinubu, citing cooperation between the executive and Parliament.

The Lafia rally is part of a series of APC mobilisation efforts in support of Tinubu’s 2027 presidential re-election bid. On 3 November, Kashim Shettima defended Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms in Calabar, after south-eastern Nigeria backed the re-election of Tinubu and Shettima on 1 November.
