Djiboutian diplomat Adou Mohamed Ali has been elected to the United Nations Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions. The committee examines the UN programme budget and peacekeeping operation budgets, according to ADI.

Djiboutian diplomat Adou Mohamed Ali, based at Djibouti's embassy in Paris, has been elected to the United Nations Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (ACABQ), Djibouti news agency ADI reports. The ACABQ is a subsidiary body of the General Assembly that examines the UN programme budget and the budgets of peacekeeping operations before they are presented to member states.

The election rewards several years of work by the diplomat in international forums, where he has gained experience in negotiation and multilateral procedures, according to ADI. It comes four days after the election, on 3 November, of Senegalese national Ibrahima Nour Eddine Diagne as president of a UN body.
