Djibouti’s Minister of Communication responsible for Posts and Telecommunications, Mohamed Abdoulkader Moussa Helem, called on Thursday in Libreville for an African digital ecosystem that is “inclusive, sovereign, innovative and resolutely forward-looking”, according to the Djibouti Information Agency (ADI). He represented Djibouti at the opening of the sixth ordinary session of the African Union’s Specialised Technical Committee on Communication and Information Technologies.
The ministers meeting examined the implementation of the decisions from their previous session, held in Addis Ababa in November 2023, and were due to define the next steps and elect a new bureau. The proceedings ended on Friday in Libreville.
This participation comes as part of Djibouti’s digital initiatives, following strengthened cooperation with Wingu Africa, announced on 29 September, and the two digital projects funded to the tune of $30 million.
