The Damerjog Liquid Bulk Port oil jetty, a subsidiary of Great Horn Investment Holding, has entered service in Djibouti. The Djiboutian holding company and Rubis also discussed new volumes of petroleum products and the site’s regional role, the Djibouti News Agency reports.
The oil jetty at Damerjog Liquid Bulk Port in Djibouti has entered service, the Djibouti News Agency (ADI) said on Tuesday, following a meeting between Great Horn Investment Holding (GHIH), Djibouti’s public holding company, and French group Rubis.
GHIH chief executive Omar Aden Obsieh received a delegation led by Olivier Sabrié, Rubis Énergie’s East Africa managing director, on Monday. Discussions also covered the development of commercial storage facilities in the Damerjog industrial park and the possibility of attracting new volumes of petroleum products. Djibouti aims to make the site a redistribution hub for the Horn of Africa and beyond, according to ADI.
The jetty’s entry into service is part of the development of liquid bulk storage and handling infrastructure at Damerjog. Rubis specialises in the storage and distribution of petroleum products and operates in East Africa.
