Guinea's regional elections on 29 November 2026 will cover 424 seats, indirectly elected by municipal councillors. The vote will be held under a first-past-the-post system and elected regional councillors will serve renewable five-year terms, according to the Directorate General of Elections.
Guinea has planned 424 regional councillor seats for the regional elections on 29 November 2026. The seats will be allocated through indirect voting, according to the Directorate General of Elections.
Municipal councillors will elect regional councillors from among their own members, with one representative for councils of 11 to 29 members and two representatives for councils with more than 29 members. The vote will be held under a first-past-the-post system and those elected will serve renewable five-year terms, according to the Directorate General of Elections.
The allocation provides for 83 seats in Kankan, 76 in Nzérékoré, 56 in Labé, 55 in Kindia, 50 in Faranah, 42 in Boké and 38 in Mamou. The decree issued in March setting these numbers does not yet take into account Siguiri and Beyla, which became administrative regions on 20 August 2026 but do not yet have the status of decentralised local authorities, according to the Directorate General of Elections.
The regional elections on 29 November were set by Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya on 13 October 2026, after the electoral timetable was announced. The setting of the regional elections for 29 November had then established the date of the vote.
