Moroccan dancer and choreographer Yassmine Benchrifa is presenting a 27-minute solo in Bobigny inspired by her journey, after training at Nafass and winning a first prize in Marrakech in 2024. Spotted by Bouchra Ouizguen at the On Marche festival, she was invited to the Festival d’Automne, according to Bladi, citing an interview with Le Monde.

Moroccan dancer and choreographer Yassmine Benchrifa is presenting her solo ‘Incendia’ at MC93 in Bobigny on 24 and 25 October, as part of the Festival d’Automne in Paris, reports Bladi. The 27-minute piece is scheduled for Sunday 25 October at 4.30pm in the Christian-Bourgois auditorium.

Created in 2025, ‘Incendia’ draws on changes experienced by Benchrifa. Théâtre La Cité reports that the artist sees each transition as part of identity. The solo had already been presented in Marseille in May 2026.

The invitation came from Moroccan choreographer Bouchra Ouizguen, who discovered Benchrifa’s work at the On Marche festival in Marrakech in 2024. The performance is part of ‘Mosaïque – Ce qui traverse les corps’, a gathering bringing together artists from Morocco, Burundi and Iran. Ouizguen is also presenting her solo ‘Qunfudh’ at MC93, one hour after Benchrifa.

After starting with hip-hop at the age of 12, Benchrifa trained in contemporary dance with Taoufiq Izeddiou from 2017, then at Nafass, Morocco’s first contemporary dance school. In 2024, she won first prize in the Taklif competition in Marrakech.
