Flávio Bolsonaro, a senator for Brazil's Liberal Party, overtook incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the second-round presidential vote count, with 50.10% of valid votes against 49.90% at 7.47pm Brasília time. The partial results were published by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) on Sunday 25 October 2026.

Minister Cristiano Zanin had extended the receipt of votes by two hours, until 7pm, after being informed of events he considered serious and urgent. The TSE then suspended the online display of results, while Lula was leading with 57.66% of the votes after 0.25% of sections had been counted, Revista Fórum reports.

At the time of the detailed tally cited by La Nouvelle Tribune, 76,803 of the 499,248 sections had been counted, or 15.38%. Flávio Bolsonaro had received 9,606,771 votes, against 9,569,996 for Lula. The TSE had not yet announced a winner.

The election pitted Lula against Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro. In another tally published the same day, the Quaest institute gave the senator a two-point lead over Lula in a poll, while polling stations had opened on 25 October.
