Ibrahim Mbaye provided an assist moments after coming on as Aston Villa beat Manchester City 2-1 in the Premier League. His first touch enabled fellow Senegalese player Nicolas Jackson to create a decisive chance, Senego reports, citing Sky Sports and dakar92.

After scoring his second goal, Jackson turned to Mbaye to underline the importance of the pass. The Aston Villa striker said he had joked that Mbaye had only just come on but had already given him “gifts”.

Jackson described Mbaye as a courageous team-mate, capable of changing the course of a move with a single intervention. He also asked him to provide another assist in their next match. The performance adds to Jackson’s victory over Manchester City, which was already reported on 24 October.
