A video filmed at the launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s 2027 presidential campaign in Kaduna has fuelled speculation about the health of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu. The footage appears to show the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, handing him an unidentified substance on Saturday, according to the Daily Post.

The footage prompted reactions on social media, with some users claiming, without public medical evidence, that the president had been given a medicine or stimulant and questioning his ability to perform his duties. The Daily Post also reported comments referring to visible fatigue or physical difficulties, without confirming these allegations.

Bola Tinubu had travelled to Kaduna for the launch of the APC campaign, in the presence of Vice-President Kashim Shettima and his wife, Nana Shettima, according to the Daily Post.

The video circulated the day after the launch of Tinubu’s 2027 campaign in Kaduna, on 24 October. The APC leader subsequently said that Nigeria supported Tinubu’s re-election.
