Tunisia is preparing to launch a digital information system for public transport passengers as part of the sector's modernisation, La Presse de Tunisie reports. The system is intended in particular to address the lack of information and communication affecting users.

La Presse de Tunisie describes a sector facing frequent breakdowns, structural delays and maintenance and upkeep problems. The newspaper also believes that governance, network monitoring and the absence of regular performance indicators make it harder to improve the service.

The newspaper also advocates a comprehensive restructuring of public transport and stresses the need to strengthen staff training and retraining. Modernising the sector is among the priorities regularly highlighted by the Tunisian president, according to La Presse de Tunisie.
