A high-level Tunisian delegation met Michael Köhler, head of European affairs and international relations at the Bavarian Chancellery, in Munich on Tuesday 27 October 2026 to discuss renewable energy projects. The talks focused on investment, financing and the energy transition, according to a statement from the Tunisian embassy in Germany.

Tunisia wants to develop joint projects in solar power, wind power and green hydrogen, promote the transfer of expertise and increase the share of renewables in its electricity production. The two sides want to identify projects to include in a joint action plan for the next three years. The delegation, which includes representatives of the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) and public banks, is also examining the possibility of exporting green electricity to Germany.

The visit, scheduled for 27 and 28 October, includes a conference on investment prospects in Tunisia’s energy sector, meetings with German officials and companies, as well as field visits. Tunisia is targeting 16% renewable electricity by 2027, an objective set out in its renewable energy development plan.
