Trump urges Israelis to re-elect Netanyahu

Donald Trump is urging Israeli voters to return Benjamin Netanyahu to the post of prime minister in the 27 October parliamentary election. The US president highlighted their cooperation and described Netanyahu as a combative leader in a message posted on his social media platform, according to Vanguard.

US President Donald Trump called on Israeli voters to re-elect Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the 27 October parliamentary election. He described the leader as an “outstanding warrior prime minister” and endorsed him on his Truth Social platform, Vanguard reports.

Trump cited the war waged by the United States and Israel against Iran, saying the two countries had “won together”. The US president had already described Netanyahu as a strong and courageous partner in a post published on 18 October.

Trump’s call comes after a statement by the Israeli army chief demanding a written order from Netanyahu concerning Iran, published on 25 October. In Dimona, the prime minister’s supporters had also maintained their backing ahead of the election, according to an article published on 22 October.
