The new bureau of Togo’s women parliamentarians’ caucus, led by Mémounatou Ibrahima, was presented on Wednesday 4 November 2026 to the President of the National Assembly, Komi Selom Klassou, in Lomé. The delegation outlined its priorities, including promoting women’s rights, defending the interests of elected women and strengthening their capabilities, reports 24 Heure Info.
Mémounatou Ibrahima asked the President of the National Assembly to advise the new team and stressed the need to take gender equity into account in projects submitted by the government. The caucus therefore intends to ensure that women’s concerns are given greater consideration in public policies.
Komi Selom Klassou serves as the caucus’s honorary president alongside the President of the Senate. Before this meeting, he had held talks with Gabon’s ambassador to Togo, Maximin Mangoualamangoye, on sharing experience between the two countries’ parliaments, particularly on bicameralism.
