About 30 coaches gathered in Ouagadougou to travel to the border between Mali and Guinea and repatriate Burkinabè gold miners expelled from Guinea. Transporters began arriving from 2am as part of a mobilisation supported by the authorities, Lefaso.net reports.
About 30 coaches were stationed on Wednesday 4 November 2026 at 11am in Revolution Square, Ouagadougou, to collect Burkinabè people at the border between Mali and Guinea, Lefaso.net reports. The vehicles, chartered by several transport companies, had begun arriving at the site from 2am.
More than 40 coaches had already set off the previous day and about 50 more were due to leave on Wednesday, according to Antoine Kaboré, national vice-president of the Burkina Faso Federation of Road Transporters. He estimated that about 200 coaches had been mobilised since Tuesday, including in Bobo-Dioulasso. The vehicles eventually left Revolution Square at about 2pm.
