Three people, two boys and a girl, were killed in clashes between wrestling supporters in Fass Mbao, Senegal, reports SeneNews. Violence broke out at the Tally Mame Diarra roundabout after an ambush on the convoy of wrestler Siggil from Yeumbeul.

The convoy, escorted by police, was travelling to the national arena in Pikine for a bout in which Siggil was due to compete. Young people from Fass Mbao blocked the road and threw projectiles. Supporters of the Yeumbeul wrestler retaliated, and police used tear gas to disperse the crowd and let the convoy pass.

The clashes are reportedly linked to a recent bout between a wrestler from Fass Mbao and an opponent from Yeumbeul. Supporters of Fass Mbao are said to have subsequently called for revenge. Protesters were also injured, according to SeneNews.
