Three gas cylinders fitted with a timer were found in the flat of the suspect in the racist shooting that left one person dead and five injured in Yvelines, France. An automatic weapon was also found in his car, France 24 reports, as the investigation continues.

French investigators discovered three gas cylinders fitted with a timer in the flat of the suspect arrested after the deadly shooting in Yvelines, France, according to France 24. A submachine gun was also found in his car.

The shooting left one person dead and five injured in Trappes and La Verrière, in the Paris suburbs, including a 12-year-old girl who was shot eight times. Authorities are examining the possibility of a potentially racist and Islamophobic terrorist attack. The French president condemned the attack, while the mayor of Saint-Denis denounced the consequences of hate speech, according to France 24.

The discovery of the devices came after the suspect’s arrest and the opening of an investigation by the national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office, announced on 23 October in the shooting in Yvelines. It adds to information already reported about the racist attack in Yvelines, which left six victims.
