The investigation into Aminata Sy’s murder in Podor, northern Senegal, identifies her boyfriend as the main suspect, while investigators report that the schoolgirl’s eyes were removed. The victim was found in a bag and the suspect, a trader from Touba, is wanted, according to Seneweb.

Aminata Sy’s boyfriend, a schoolgirl found dead in a bag in Podor, is considered the main suspect in the murder investigation. The trader from Touba is being actively sought in the region and at the borders, and may already have left Senegal, according to Seneweb sources. Investigators also suspect that the victim’s eyes were removed and have not ruled out the possibility of a mystical crime.

Aminata Sy is believed to have visited the suspect on the day she disappeared, while their relationship was known to those around them, according to testimony gathered by Seneweb. A team from the Saint-Louis research section has been sent to reinforce the Podor brigade. The investigation is being overseen by the public prosecutor at the Saint-Louis High Court.

The murder follows the discovery, on 25 October, of a young girl found tied up in a bag in Podor, according to information previously published by our service.
