South Africa needs only three wickets to win its cricket series against Australia after an excellent start to the day by Kagiso Rabada. The bowler took three wickets in 30 minutes, while Australia still needed 288 runs, TimesLIVE reports.
Kagiso Rabada took three wickets in the first half-hour of the final day, bringing South Africa closer to a series victory against Australia. The Proteas need to dismiss only three more Australian batters to win the decisive Test, TimesLIVE reports.
Rabada notably reached 350 Test wickets, becoming the fastest bowler to reach the milestone with 13,808 balls. He surpassed his compatriot Dale Steyn, who needed 14,719 balls, and Pakistan’s Waqar Younis, who reached the mark after 14,905 balls, according to TimesLIVE.
Australia began the day needing 288 runs after centuries from Ryan Rickelton and Wiaan Mulder. Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head and Matt Renshaw were dismissed by Rabada, while Simon Harmer then took three wickets, including those of Alex Carey, Cooper Connolly and Mitchell Starc, according to TimesLIVE. Australia’s innings collapsed through the morning, including Josh Inglis’s run-out from a delivery by Marques Ackerman relayed by Rickelton.
The end of the Test comes after South Africa set Australia a target of 288 runs on 30 October, as part of the 288-run target set for Australia. It follows the 154 runs scored by Ryan Rickelton and Wiaan Mulder on the same day.
