The Russian president also claimed his country’s technological advances at the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, reports the TASS news agency, cited by The Independent UG.
Russian President Vladimir Putin defended the emergence of a multipolar world at the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum. He said this development was “objective and irreversible” and that the era when a small group of states decided the fate of continents was over, the Russian news agency TASS reports.
Vladimir Putin accused Western countries of seeking to plunge African states back into debt through loans with very costly conditions. He also denounced tariff wars, sanctions, economic pressure and interference in domestic affairs as means of resisting the multipolar order.
The Russian president also highlighted Russia’s progress in technological sovereignty. He cited information technology and the development of two major Russian large language models, saying the country had taken the lead in several areas and that its competitors had to catch up, according to TASS.
These statements extend the offer of a partnership based on autonomy that Vladimir Putin presented to African countries on 29 October 2026. The partnership based on autonomy and the reference to Thomas Sankara over debt were made at the same summit.
