Manchester United’s English midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has returned to training after missing four matches through injury. His fitness will determine whether he plays against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday, with the Manchester club 16th in the league, according to the Ghanaian Chronicle.
Kobbie Mainoo, a Manchester United midfielder, returned to training on Wednesday after missing four consecutive matches through injury, three days before his club’s Premier League trip to Chelsea. His participation in the session at Carrington gives manager Michael Carrick another option, according to GhanaSoccerNet.
Mainoo was injured during the 1-1 draw against Tottenham on 10 October. He subsequently missed Manchester United’s defeat by Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, followed by the matches against Como and Bournemouth. Michael Carrick said on 20 October that his return could require another 10 days.
The player’s fitness will determine whether he can start at Stamford Bridge, take a place on the bench or continue his recovery. Manchester United are 16th in the Premier League and have won only two of their 12 matches in all competitions. Carlos Baleba, another midfielder at the club, has also regained full fitness after an ankle injury, according to GhanaSoccerNet.
