Orange Ivory Coast is calling for young people’s training to be adapted to digital professions, particularly in cloud computing, cybersecurity and networks. Mame Diop-Ba, Chief Operating Officer of Orange Cloud & Cyber Solutions, also called for stronger soft skills, such as adaptability, open-mindedness and a willingness to learn, according to the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP).

Mame Diop-Ba called for closer ties between training institutions and businesses in order to align teaching with the needs of the labour market. She was speaking at a panel during CGECI Academy 2026, held on 29 and 30 October in Abidjan around the training of national knowledge champions.

The Director-General of the National Polytechnic Institute Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB), Moussa Abdoul Kader Diaby, for his part stressed the importance of promoting research through scientific publications, patents and practical applications. He said that the knowledge produced should lead to solutions useful to society and skills that meet businesses’ needs, reports AIP.

The call comes a day after Ivorian Vice-President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné expressed a desire to bring the Ivorian state closer to businesses for youth employment, on 29 October 2026.
