In Daloa, organisers of the National Technical Education Fair called on young people and their parents to prioritise vocational training, which can lead to a trade or further study. Minister delegate Jean-Louis Moulot cited skills needs in construction, mechanics, electricity, agro-industry and digital technology, according to AIP.
Organisers of the National Technical Education Fair (SNET) called on young people and their parents to prioritise technical and vocational training on Friday 23 October 2026 in Daloa, in the west-central Ivory Coast. This regional stage of the fair, held under the theme of technical education as a driver of industrialisation, highlights career opportunities in construction, mechanics, electricity, agro-industry and digital technology, according to the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP).
The minister delegate responsible for Technical Education, Jean-Louis Moulot, said this training enables students either to continue to higher education after a technical baccalaureate or to gain a qualification to work directly in a trade, according to AIP. The organisers urged families to move beyond the idea that technical education is a second-choice path.
Professionals presented their career paths to visitors. The fair also provided information on available courses, discussions with specialists and career guidance, to bring training closer to businesses’ need for skilled workers, according to AIP.
